Overview

The Verandah has an enviable location nestled between two fine sandy beaches in a tranquil cove. The resort is on the north east coast of Antigua, one of the Caribbean's most beautiful islands. British visitors especially will feel quite at home here as the island has a long connection with Britain, particularly the navy. One of the major attractions is the restored Nelson’s Dockyard, built in the 1700s as a base for naval vessels which were hunting down pirates.

The resort's two beaches provide excellent swimming and water sports. The hotel offers its guests free use of facilities for snorkelling, windsurfing, kayaking, Sunfish sailing and Hobie cats.

On land there is tennis and mini golf to enjoy and, of course, the hotel has a large freshwater pool for swimming and lounging at.

Children have their own activities here, arranged by the Kids’ Club, which include games, climbing and their own pool. Young teens also have their own club which offers many activities such as volleyball on the beach.

If you want to keep up with a fitness programme whilst you are on holiday, the hotel’s Fitness Centre has all the necessary facilities to enable you to do just that. There are treadmills, multi-gyms and free weights along with cool water and towels for your comfort.

Holidays are a time for relaxation and pampering and the Tranquility Spa at The Verandah has a range of spa and beauty treatments to offer in that line. The products that are used in the spa are also available for purchase.

There are several choices of bar and lounge at The Verandah. The main lounge is located at the pool bar and is a good place to socialise with fun and refreshment on tap both day and night. It is also where you will find afternoon tea being served. Guests who don't wish to stray far from the pool can cool off at the Pool Bar. Beachside, there's the Rasta Bar, a funky little shack just off the main lobby building. It offers a full complement of cocktails and drinks in a totally relaxed and beachy setting.

A Caribbean wedding is the dream of many a bride-to–be and at The Verandah Resort & Spa there is a specialist team of wedding planners just waiting to make it happen. The hotel will arrange all the details for the prospective bride and groom and the hotel has special wedding packages that are fully-inclusive of their services.
