Relaxation is encouraged at the Serenity Cottage Spa where a number of massage and spa treatments are available. The hotel's swimming pool is also conducive to rest as it has a tranquil palm tree-lined location.
Activity aplenty is available at one of the hotel's two beaches, however, mainly in the form of watersports. Among the fun to be had is the use of kayaks and other non-powered craft. Boat trips are available to the well-known Cades Reef, a prime area for diving and snorkelling.
Although the hotel offers plenty of opportunity to soak up the unique atmosphere and ambience of the Caribbean, most people will want to explore the island of Antigua at some point during their holiday. Antigua has strong links with Britain, having been a British possession from the 1600s until 1981 when it gained independence. Many of the attractions on the island are related to this period of its history.
For instance, the English Harbour was a Caribbean base for the British Navy right up to the beginning of the 19th century. The harbour area and Nelson’s Dockyard which is part of it, has been extensively restored to its former glory. The area is now a thriving shopping location with several fine restaurants and bars.
All three meals of the day are included in your holiday price, as are tips and taxes. The hotel makes a point of using as much local, fresh produce as possible in its dishes. Cuisine is international with more than a suggestion of West Indian flavours.
The fine climate and wonderful scenery of Antigua make it a prime spot for weddings and the hotel has special packages designed to provide a wedding to remember. Specialist staff will look after a bride’s every requirement and will ensure that the day goes according to plan.
